Last night my husband made home made turkey burgers for dinner. From scratch. I e-mailed him from work yesterday and told him I was craving a good burger and so he told me what to buy and a good burger I had.
When you are starving, waiting is the hardest part. Even Norman was sitting in the kitchen watching Jason put these amazing burgers together.
Let's just say that when it was all said and done, these were some of the juciest, most amazing burgers I have ever had. Not to mention made with love by the man I love most.
So how is our marriage like a good burger?
(silly I know)
1) We have just the right amount of sweet, salty and spicy in the mix. We balance each other out and compromise on things so that we each get a little flavor of the things we love in life
2) We listen to each others needs. I know a burger is a silly "need" but he knew how much I was craving a good burger so he decided to be the one to meet that need for me. This concept goes for bigger needs we have in life and I don't mean just material things.
3) We help and serve each other. My husband was the master chef in the kitchen last night so I was his helper. In everything we help each other.
4) Waiting. This was probably the hardest part but most important. You can't rush a good burger or it either won't be cooked good or won't taste right. Just like I waited patiently for that burger, we waited for each other. I didn't rush into a relationship just because I didn't want to be single anymore. Instead we waited for that person that adds just the right amount of flavor. That person who compliments me.
There is no such thing as a "perfect" marriage because there is no such thing as a perfect person. However, I love our quirks and I love how well we love each other.
It was a good burger and I'm looking forward to many more!
Happy Friday!
