We are having a..... BOY!

What Little Boys are Made Of!
"A wee bit of dirt and a devilish grin...
Curios eyes and spaghetti sauce chin...
A dollop of mud behind his right ear,
and a handful of worms in his pocket I fear.
You see his knees through the holes in his jeans,
He likes ice cream but won't eat his beans.
He's made of mudpies and bubble gum kisses,
and wonder at Christmas and Birthday wishes.
And a heap of giggles and wiggles and love,
These are all the things little boys are made of."

We found out on Wednesday that we are going to be having a baby BOY!
I see a little something sticking up in the picture (how cute is that!?):

{My husband will now have a little soccer buddy,
I'll have another reason to give out lots of kisses and hugs}
I'm so excited to have lots of little planes, trucks, cars and little boy toys scattered around the house!
I cannot wait to be his momma!

Project "prepare for baby" remodel {phase one}

Untitled-1 IMG_4203 Untitled-2 IMG_4207

Phase one is in progress: demolition!

These pictures were taken over a week ago so the shower and a few of these walls have since been torn out. I'm a little behind on blogging these days :)

Before we began the demolition, the attic had:
*A master bedroom which was open (no doors, it was more loft style) with a master bath and a huge dressing area and a small walk-in closet.
*A second bedroom which we used as our office
(It was a horrible layout w/ lots of wasted dead space and did I mention the horrible wall paper?)

The new floor plan will include:
*The nursery with a walk in closet
*A laundry room (so I don't have to go up and down 3 flights of stairs to the basement where the main laundry room is!)
*A loft area/reading corner (thrilled about this!)
*Our master bedroom/master bath/larger walk in closet

Here is a little image of our new floor plan:

We remodeled the main floor in early fall 2012.
See some details on this post here.
Our house has a total of four bedrooms so we will be moving the office downstairs and the other bedroom will become a guest bedroom.
It will be nice to have our bedroom and the nursery seperate from the rest of the house!

We have an electrician coming in next week to do our electrical.
Next on the list after that is the plumbing.
Then drywall and then the fun part: paint, tile, light fixtures, vanities, doors, etc!
This weekend we hope to start shopping for all the things we want in our new space.

I'm excited to see it all come together and have a new, fresh living space for our new baby coming in September <3

More updates to come!

Have a wonderful weekend!

These pictures are from a few weeks ago.

A few weeks ago my sister and my brothers girlfriend spent some time exploring a few different shops around town.

{Coffee, sunshine, good company and some pretty cool vintage/thrift stores}
What more can a Portland girl ask for?

a tiny bump

Hello friends!
I seem to have disappeared off the planet lately!
Pregnancy will do that to you if you're not feeling well!
I just wasn't in the mood to do much but rest!
I feel like I had about a two week break where I felt great and then the nausea slowly came back!
Although my nausea hasn't completely subsided, my fatigue is under control.
I'm passed the 1st trimester and well into the 2nd now and I think things are looking up!

I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant and the baby is about the size of an avocado.
I feel like I finally have a teeny-tiny bump starting to show!

Here is a recent picture from last Saturday taken via iPhone.
We enjoyed a nice little picnic in the park now that spring is finally here!

We find out the sex of the baby on the 27th of this month.
I honestly feel like the pregnancy will feel more "official" once we know if our little one is a boy or girl!
I've been abstaining from buying all the adorable baby things I see everywhere until I know for sure.

Some more exciting news is that we are starting the remodel on our entire upstairs next week!
We are turning one of the spare bedrooms into a nursery and re-doing our master bath.
My husband agreed to let me have a claw foot tub in our master bathroom.. I've always wanted a claw foot tub!
Once I'm a mama, I know I'll need some quiet soaking time to myself ;)
We are doing a complete renovation (basically gutting the place and starting fresh) so I will be sure to share the before and after with you.

I've also been documenting the weeks in a little pregnancy journal I'm making.
I said I would also share this DIY with you too and I promise I will soon!

There is so much to plan and think about once you are pregnant!
September will be here before we know it!
I can't wait to meet our little munchkin!
