time to open up and be honest

IMG_0512
Since I started blogging I've made some really amazing connections with other bloggers. I feel like I've become "friends" with many of you. So I feel comfortable sharing a litle piece of my heart today.
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now. It's been 1 year and 3 months to be exact. My husband is so supportive and positive but sometimes it's hard not to get down about it!
So many decisions need to be made about what to do next. We've decided to make an appointment to get "checked" out. We've also thrown out the idea of other options like local adoption.
It's time to be a little open and honest here and ask for some support.
Would you mind mentioning us in your prayers? We kinda need it right now!

  4. Best of luck with everything. You and your husband are in my thoughts:) Something to consider may be all of the stress over the last year with buying a new home and settling in. It didn't happen right away for us and my doctor told me I needed to relax and de-stress my life, I did and boom- it happened! Everyone is different but I just thought I'd share...

  5. Oh my word, love...I will of course have you in my prayers. I know that can just be so difficult to work through...so draining on money, time, emotions especially. Don't forget that even when they doesn't seem true or feel true...God's promises ARE holding firm. He will never withhold any good thing from you, and if a father knows to give bread to his children and not a snake, how much more will He know how to give good things to His children?

  6. I think making the appointment is a great idea. It will either get you started on treatments that could help or it will just set your mind at ease knowing that there is nothing wrong. Sometimes it just takes time. I think I told you at the photography thing that it took us about 8 months to get pregnant with Pearl. My sister just had her son and they tried for over 2 years. God's timing is perfect, and I'm sure if you feel so strongly about having kids, they are in his plan for you.

  8. I will be praying for the both of you. I know a girl who had the same issue and went through fertility treatment (I'm praying this is not the road you have to go down) and she now has an adorable two year old and newborn twins. Keep your chin up.

  13. First off, thanks for following me back :-) I've been looking at your blog for over a year now and I love the change into a more diy/lifestyle (there are so many style blogs out there), and you and your husband are just adorable and lovely. Sending you all the luck in the world from Canada!

  14. Some of the girls in the office are checking themselves up to the doctors, too. More and more couples are more open about it now. A year or so is not a long period in waiting, dear, be patient, watch and pray. :)

  16. My thoughts are with you and your family. It is wonderful that you are opening up for support--I know it is a hard position to be in sometimes.

Lots of love and you are considered a dear friend (even if I only get to see you every now and again, I am able to keep up with your life and feel so close!)

  18. My husband and I just started trying and I am so nervous that it might take us some time to concieve. When you decide to start trying for a baby you are ready NOW. Patience is tough, but I believe the time will come when it's just right. I'm also in the PNW and a new follower of yours. My prayers are with you and your hubby.
